Retail Stock Taker (Client Hiring)
Job Description
We’re hiring a Retail Stock Taker for a client, with the potential to earn up to £14.25 per hour. Role offers excellent career growth, flexible shifts, and opportunities for overtime.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately count and record inventory items in the store, including stock on shelves, in storage, or in the warehouse.
- Conduct regular stock audits to ensure inventory levels match system records, identifying discrepancies and addressing them as needed.
- Assist in replenishing stock on the shop floor, ensuring products are available for customers.
- Use scanning devices or software to track stock movements, including incoming shipments and stock transfers.
- Report stock discrepancies, damaged goods, and overstocked items to management, and suggest improvements for inventory management.
- Ensure that stock is organized neatly and follows visual merchandising standards, making products easily accessible for customers and staff.
- Monitor for potential theft, damaged goods, or stock errors, and help maintain a secure environment to reduce stock loss.
- Work closely with store managers, sales associates, and warehouse teams to maintain smooth stock operations.
- Ensure proper stock rotation (e.g., FIFO—First In, First Out) to minimize waste, especially in perishable goods.
- Occasionally assist customers with product inquiries related to stock availability or inventory.
Experience:
- Familiarity with stock taking procedures, inventory audits, and product scanning systems.
- Experience in using inventory management software or stock scanning tools is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of loss prevention practices and techniques.
- Previous experience in retail, stock management, or inventory control is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical fitness as the role involves standing, walking, and lifting stock items.
